Chelsea Thompson

Your name and where you’re (originally) from?

Chelsea Thompson; I am originally from San Diego.

Name of business/company that you work for, or own?

Working for DDMS (De Maximis Data Management Solutions).

Website / Instagram / Facebook / LinkedIn social media platforms for your business?

How long you’ve been working / how’d you get started?

I have been working here for only a month, but so far so good! I got started here at ddms through actually, when I was searching for an environmental/technological position after I graduated from San Diego State University.

Best part about your job?

The best part about my job is that I get to work with so many different platform types that all manage data efficiently, which in the process of doing so, takes the weight off our clients; since we provide numerous services for environmental projects.

Interesting fact about yourself?

I have never left the country in my entire life (not even to Mexico) but I finally have a passport now. I love sour beers or a nice vodka cocktail. I could eat pizza every single day without getting sick of it. I am a true night owl that could stay up till 3am and then sleep in till 12pm every day. As a San Diego native I think a day that is under 75 degrees is “chilly”. I really like going to concerts and music festivals but rap music is my favorite.

Favorite local place to eat?

Currently my favorite local places to eat around BLOC are Pizza Port and Station Sushi, but I go back and forth depending on what mood I am in.

Why do you enjoy being a part of a cowork environment (at BLOC)?

I really like working at BLOC because of the variety of people and businesses; it is refreshing to work in a relaxed environment, so you are not sitting at a desk all day losing your mind. You are free to stroll around, enjoy BLOC’s amenities, the beautiful view of the beach, and all things within walking distance or a short drive. I also like how BLOC throws together events or meet ups for its members treating us like family and encouraging us to branch out and make connections (this aspect is something I enjoy since I work in a remote office and the interaction with others is somewhat limited).
