BLOC's Response to

COVID-19

Your health and safety, and that of our community members and our employees, are our top priorities.

As we reopen our locations, we realize that physical distancing may be required for the foreseeable future. As we address this reality, we also believe that our need for connection and collaboration will be more important than ever. We are committed to creating a safe environment for our Members to thrive.

Your health and safety, and that of our community members and our employees, are our top priorities—and we’re doing everything we can to create an environment that’s safe for everyone. We want to stress how important it is that our Members help us maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with these new policies.

The following outlines our plans and strategies for providing a safe workspace and doing our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to update this page as things change, and as we receive new information from our public health agencies.

Here's how we're taking action to ensure your safety.

Enhanced Cleaning

Enhanced Cleaning

We have implemented heightened cleaning measures using disinfectant from EPA List N, approved for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. We have also increased the frequency with which our locations are cleaned and disinfected. Common, high-traffic areas and objects will also be cleaned by staff throughout the day.

Sanitization Stations

Sanitization stations are provided at each BLOC location, and are conveniently located throughout the space. Stations include disinfectant wipes and/or spray, and FDA mandated WHO (World Health Organization) Formula 1, 80% alcohol hand sanitizer, made by local San Diego distillery, Pacific Spirits.

Wear a face mask

Mask Policy

Face coverings are required when circulating any BLOC facility. This includes: entering and exiting the building, using the kitchen or printer, circulating through the space to restrooms, outdoor areas, kitchen, phone booths, or offices; and anytime you are within six feet of others. Face coverings should cover your nose and mouth when worn.

Silverware

Single Use Items

Kitchens have been modified to include light touch solutions such as disposable cups, plates, bowls and cutlery. In addition, single use coffee condiments are also being provided in lieu of communal containers such as individual creamers and sugars, and individually wrapped stir sticks.

Social Distancing

6 ft. Separation

Capacity in the open coworking areas have been reduced to ensure members can physically distance from one another by at least 6 ft. Every other desk features specially designed out-of-use signs to ensure proper and safe spacing. Teleworking and modified work schedules are also encouraged.

Meeting Room

Meeting Rooms

Meeting room capacity has been reduced to a maximum of 4 people at any given time. Members are asked to clean meeting room tables, chairs, and remote controls after their scheduled meetings.

Signage

Workplace Signage

Assistive signage to inform and remind members and guest of BLOC’s health and safety policies have been strategically placed throughout each location. This is in addition to our full Health and Safety Guide, also found at each BLOC location, and available here for download.
