The Power of Your Intentions

“When we align our thoughts, emotions, and actions with the highest part of ourselves, we are filled with enthusiasm, purpose, and meaning…when the personality comes fully to serve the energy of it’s soul, that is authentic empowerment.”

Gary Zukav, The Seat of the Soul

How do you choose to show up to life?

Setting clear intentions is a powerful tool for choosing how you show up to life. This could be setting your intention for how you would like your day to go, the intention you have for your business or for creating change in your personal life. For every ‘what’ you do, there is a ‘why’ you do it. This is your intention.

There is great influence and power in having a clear intention. Without clarity we can often feel lost or become unmotivated. Without a reason, a purpose and vision, there is no foundation for why we do the things we do. This applies to everything in life. When you have a clear vision and positive intentions, you are more powerful. Intentions allow you the freedom to take control of how your future develops, shaping it in the way you desire.

A key part of this is understanding that where you place your focus will have an intense impact on what happens to you in life. When you put yourself out into the world with purpose, you will be amazed by how naturally co-creations will start to occur. At BLOC we witness this first hand amongst our members. The members that are confident and purposeful in themselves and their work naturally form connections with one another. These connections make their time spent at BLOC, whether it be networking or focused work, more positive and successful.

Tips For Setting Your Intentions.

Be authentic.

Who are you, what do you really want, what’s your purpose, what’s important to you? By knowing yourself and being authentic, both your personal and professional life will fall into place.

Practice alignment.

Rather than trying to separate all of life’s responsibilities, letting them stack up and then trying to rigorously balance them all; let each part of your life support the other. Try aligning instead of balancing them.

Be clear and specific.

“Our intention creates our reality.” Be clear with yourself and what you want. You may say, “I want to be successful.” That is too vague; successful in business, with family life, with money? If you want to be successful with business, say that. Place a deadline or a timeframe on your specific goals.

Watch your language.

“I should workout more.” Instead of using the word should, choose instead to say, “I will start working out.” Set that intention. Positively state what you want to happen in a way that helps to form positive experiences and changes in your life.

Write down your intentions.

Write down your intention, say it and repeat it throughout the day. When you put your intentions out into the world, the idea comes together and a specific energy is formed. You need to believe in yourself and in your intentions.

Look forward not back.

Focus on what your life “will” look like when your goal is achieved. Let the power of positive thinking prevail! And if it helps, create a vision board.

Practice Gratitude.

Every day holds something to be grateful for. “Gratitude is one of the best ways to create the abundance consciousness, says Deepak Chopra, because you’ll focus on the source of all those things that came into your life  — and they’ll continue to open to you.” Gratitude helps to remove the ego and allows you to get in touch with your true self. Focus on what makes you happy and what will make you happiest.

Determination is key.

Those who are continually pressing forward are genuinely successful. The moment you become careless and give up efforts, you begin to regress. Hold true to your intentions, remember the why/when/where/how and never give up on striving for the positive life you see for yourself.
